Advanced Nurse Practitioner Vacancy
We are currently trying to recruit a new advanced practitioner. This is affecting the number of urgent/on the day appointments we can offer. We are currently using locum ANP's to cover the sessions. Please be assured that we are doing our best to try and fill this vacancy.
Flu Campaign 2019/2020
If you still want to have your flu vaccination we will be running some catch-up clinics in the next few weeks. We will send you a text or a letter to let you know when the dates are. The practice nurses are currently going out to make sure our housebound patients have their vaccination.
Thursday Afternoons:
Historically we have always closed on a Thursday afternoon. This has now changed and we are open until 6:30pm for patients to make appointments and order/collect repeat prescriptions.
If you need an urgent GP appointment or telephone advice on a Thursday afternoon please ring the surgery on 0161 214 8710 and your call will be transferred to Go To Doc who will make you an appointment to be seen at Ashton Primary Care Centre on Old Street.
Please note: We will still close on the third Thursday of every month for TARGET/staff training.
Extended Hours Access:
We now have telephone appointments available with our nurses and GP's before 8am and after 6:30pm. If you would like to book one of these appointments please contact the reception team on 0161 214 8710.
Primary Care Access Service:
Our receptionists can book an appointment for you at one of the neighbourhood hubs in Ashton, Glossop, Hyde, Denton or Stalybridge. While you may not see your registered GP, all clinicians have access to your medical record, subject to your consent. Patients can pre-book routine evening or weekend appointments with a healthcare professional at one of five neighbourhood hubs, outside of traditional working hours.
Out of Hours Medical Care:
NHS111 - Patients can ring NHS111 and speak to trained advisor who will assess your symptoms and direct you to the appropriate service. All calls are free from landlines and mobile phones and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The walk in centre at Tameside Hospital - Open 9am - 9pm. Tel: 0161 342 7050.
Minor Eye Conditions Service - This is a free NHS service available from a number of local opticians. To find an optician please search www.gmpec.co.uk. An appointment will normally be required so please telephone first.
Minor Ailments - Run by all local pharmacies (except Cohens in Glossop).
Want to access your medical records on the move?
You can now access your medical records on your mobile phone, IPad, tablet, laptop or desktop. You can make appointments, request repeat prescriptions and view your medical record on-line. If you would like to register for on-line access please contact reception for further details. You will require ID.
